So if you're just starting out and trying to learn golf, you should really know what you are doing before stepping out on the green. If you think the game just consists of swinging the club like a mad man and then just putting to victory, you are very far from being correct.
Golf is a game of patience, time and lots and lots of hard work. To learn golf it requires a ton of practice to be able to be considered a decent golfer. Even the pro's like Tiger Woods still practice every day. They even have personal trainers and coaches they work with.
Not saying you have to have lessons or a personal coach to be a great golfer, but it does significantly increase your chances of being a better golfer a lot faster. I'm going to share with you a couple of secrets when your just starting out to learn golf a little better.
First off I'm sure that you are having problems getting the ball into the air by trying to scoop the ball like ice cream out of a carton. I had this same problem when I was starting to learn golf Well clubs are specifically designed so it does not need to be scooped. Golf clubs have lofts on them which allows the ball to up and away. A main key to this is understanding your golf clubs and how they work.
Just like with anything understanding the way it works will help you to be great at it. The first step to achieve this, is you need to be swinging your weight from your back foot to your front foot. As with scooping most of your weight stays in the back and then causes a poor shot. Most people do this when they learn golf.
When your weight shifts backwards and away from the target, your left shoulder is raised up and the direction of your swing changes. the correct direction you need is a circle. As you bring your club back it will reach the point where it will come forward and stop at the same point it was at in your backswing.
Most of the time when you begin to learn golf in your swing you will only hit the top half of the golf ball which is another reason a lot of your shots don't necessarily leave the ground. To resolve this you need to have your swing coming in a descending blow as it will allow a much more airborne shot.
Try and hitting the ground a little along with the "WHOLE BALL" this gives the ball no choice but to go airborne. The more practice with this the better you will get.
This took me a few times of golfing out on the course and in the driving range before I actually got this concept down. I now am hitting the ball airborne every singe time. This is one of the most important tips for someone who just started to learn golf. Without an long powerball airborne shot, it will take you forever to reach the green. Just remember practice makes perfect.
